Good Evening

I have some indoor speakers and want to add 2 outdoor speakers can someone tell me if it is possible to add a on/off switch or volume control to just the outdoor speakers

could i install the switch if i take the cable from the last speaker
Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. You take cables from the amplifier to the switch box, then cables from the switch box to each loudspeaker. That way, you can have the inside pair only, the outside pair only, or both on. If you have both on, you have to make sure that the amplifier can drive the impedance of the two pairs in parallel. As to volume control, you can get a separate volume control for the outside pair only.

If you let us know what the amplifier is and what the 'speakers are, we should be able to advise whether the amplifier can drive both pairs together, or only one pair at a time.

Hi the amplifier is an Yamaha R-N402 and the speakers are Adastra 100v line speakers 240w speaker max output

Assuming your amp is the R-N402D, the amp already has loudspeaker switching, so you don't need an external switch box. The amp is rated down to 2 ohms, so most loudspeakers should work. The problem you have is that your 'speakers are 100v line, so unless you can bypass the transformer, they won't work with the Yamaha amp. You need 4 or preferably 8 ohm loudspeakers, not 100v line.

EDIT:- If yours are like ones I've seen, there's a switch to select 100v line or 8 ohms.

As to a volume control for the outside loudspeakers, those are easily available on-line.

No, not specifically. Just make sure that the volume control is rated for 30-50 watts or so. You don't need to have the volume control rated for the amplifier's full power, as you're never going to be running the amp flat out, but if the volume control is rated too low, you're likely to burn it out. 30 to 50 watts rating should be quite adequate.
