Hi,

Here's a novel design for a turntable, the Steampunk Steam Powered Turntable.

I saw that on pfm - really nice, quirky bit of kit. What lets it down, for me, is that it uses quite a sophisticated (but not well implemented) electronic feedback circuit to control speed (which is all over the place). What it should use is a mechanical governor system and flywheel - which would look really cool too (I can think of a much better way of driving the drive pulley too).

Compressed air drive isn't such a silly idea even for a modern turntable.

Hey, soon you will be able to put 'legacy' and 'CD' together :)

"Legacy" has overtones of an imperial site I would rather avoid. "Classic" is a better term.
