The kitchen cloth arrived, looks more like sheets of paper than cloth... :D

Two sheets 8"x11" cost me almost 60 euros, including transport and taxes...

I placed them covering the FMJ DVD player, and it works...

The midrange is richer, more detail, less noise, there is a strange side effect though, it sounds noticeably slower...

What the hell is this stuff ?

I tired my free Tetley Tea Dish Cloth but all it did was block the display :D !
Should I go for a PG or Nambari variety ?

News for you Antonio. Good systems do IMHO sound ssubjectively slower.

Do you mean I have a good system now... :latte:

I am testing with DVDs now, the difference is even bigger, and the image looks better too... :MILD:

Please can you say where you ordered it from.

Yeah, that's what surprised me. the improvement in picture quality on the old Panny was unmistakeable!

Steve,

I ordered it from the man himself, but as there is a dealer for the UK, you cannot...

WM,

I believe you, but I am nor ordering more ERS, nor cutting pieces of what I already have... :JPS:

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not in the UK, and so are quite a few others not, that's why I asked.

Good for you ;) , so you can probably order directly from Stillpoints... :MILD:

I have more news, with the Isobearings + ERS, I dont have bass ressonances anymore, they where probably augmented by the rigid coupling of the rack, in the old flat the plastic casters took care of it...

So I dont need room equalization any more, and the system is sounding better then ever... :boogie:

My former company were going to be the first 'proper' UK distributor of all the Stillpoints products. Overkill Audio in Scotland were carrying the Stillpoints with Risers and the ERS paper for a while but they were never interested in becoming a full distributor.

However, Derek Wilson at Overkill is a great guy to talk to if you need more information, plus I still have all the .pdf files for all the products including the ERS paper if anyone wants copies. Email me (no PM's please): [email protected]

The Stillpoints with Risers are superb isolation devices, only problem was the price, the UK market was having great difficulty in stomaching the selling prices, but we though they thoroughly were worth every penny.

The ERS paper was originally a more professional orientated product as this was sold by the roll into recording studio's for lining the walls etc. It was also sold to cable manufacturers who used it as part of their sheilding configuration.

Care should be taken when using ERS paper though as it does have conductive properties. For the home user it should really be cut up into smaller sections and placed in specific locations within the equipment chasis etc. or on top of valve amp transformers.

Stillpoints USA were (at my last conversation with them), running all UK supply through their German distributor.

overkill dont reply to email

WOW! That's a real shame if that is the general impression they give customers. Maybe worth picking up the phone and calling them, can't beat good old verbal conversation ;)

I can only comment on dealing with them as a distributor, I always got responses to emails but especially found telephone dialog very efficient.

It might be good to remember that many companies like Overkill might not necessarily have the resources to respond to the hundreds of emails they receive on a daily basis, many of which are what the motor trade would call 'tyre-kickers', but still have to be responded to therefore wasting time and delaying responses to the genuine emails.

While this is not an excuse for bad efficiency and poor customer service it sometimes helps to put yourself in the other persons position once in a while rather than jump to negative conclusions.

Bear in mind too that Derek Wilson and his partner has been doing extensive travelling of late promoting their new system, the likes of which went down very well at CES and has just been reviewed by the '6 Moons' people.

Hopefully a phone call will do the trick ;);)

I've no experience of trying to contact Overkill Audio, but in general companies that advertise e-mail addresses but then don't respond REALLY piss me off. If a company is not going to reply, or do so in a remotely timely fashion, then they shouldn't advertise the e-mail address in the first place. It's that simple.

If a company has a webpage and advertises a contact email they should have the decency to monitor and reply to emails. If not it shows a lazy and uncaring attitude.
A phone call wont be needed, after my mail was ignored i purchased from the states and got very good service.
