Hi all

If anyone comes across this player in a shop, advert or on 'ebay' please let me know. It has been stolen with the helpful assistance of the ever-wonderful 'Parcel farce'

Cambridge Audio Azur 840C

Colour: Black / 'Graphite'

Ser No 0569

Distinguishing Features: It has been internally damped with 2 layers of 'Dynamat' adhesive damping material. Some of the fixing screws have consequently had paint removed from them and the player is a good 12kg as a result of the extra weight.

Given (by a f":#%ing postman) to two Gentlemen in Malvern on 06 July 07.

Insurance claim is now in progress, Police have been informed. I would caution anybody to think very carefully before using Parcel force. I made the mistake of asking a friend to post it for me and this was the unfortunate choice they made.

Sorry to hear .....I will certainly keep my eyes open.

don't forget that car boot sales are the main point where criminal elements sell on there ill gotten gains....certainly in my area.

Scott,
Its probably worth sending an email round all the dealers you can think of with a photo if poss.

Unfortunatly its more then likely been sold for a fiver in the pub.

I'll keep an eye out. I had an accuphase PS1200 stolen a couple of years ago. they probably thought it was a big amp.

A friend who was burgled ...had his MF amp buried in the garden of the thief .....it was obvious that the thief could not fence the unit on ..as it had little value in the criminal community.

just goes to show there not necessarily the sharpest knife in the
draw....!

I bet if I got broken into the £250 Dvd player and the telly would go, leaving >£20ks worth of hifi behind...

Thanks guys

Police have been very quick and helpful, probably never see it again now though.

On the bright side....

That's another new CD player thread, whahey.

'Postscript'

Player was discovered by Tony a week after my last post, under a bush in his back garden with lots of other (very damp) post.

Fortunately the box protected it and it worked. It has now been restored to full working order and I collected today following Modding.

I take back some* of my parcelfarce comments.

*Only some of course; although I have canceled my claim, it would be dishonest to pursue it.

love that, under a bush.

at least they didn't leave your brand new 180gm zepplin re-issues propped up against the back wall of the house.

not only did they warp but they got wet as well.

You're not the first person to have suffered from the mail man hiding things in a garden - an old work colleague of mine submitted a claim for some PC stuff that seemingly never arrived and got his money back, and subsequently discovered all the kit stuffed behind his shed about six months later! Why do they do such things? I don't recall him giving the money back though......:D

Glad the CDP is safe and well though!
