Stoneaudio.co.uk Warning...!!!

SMEagol, I used to have an Alphason Sonata with an Alphason HR100 SMCS tonearm fitted with an Ortofon Kontrapunkt cartridge. It sounded absolutely awesome but then I found that I had been made redundant and still owed 13k. I had a WAD 300B push pull amplifier with a WAD KLP1 preamp and things were wonderful... then my marriage ended. And, I had a fab pair of Audio Note speakers... Need I go on...???

I am going to get things back together again but it's going to take a very long time. My goal is to get a s/h Orbe with a decent arm and fit my present Denon DL160 cartridge and then maybe try to get an Icon Audio Stereo 50 integrated with KT88 valves. Maybe I'm just dreaming...​

Mmm... I reckon that's the problem. As I live in some deserted little backwater up in North Yorkshire all of my buying is best done using the internet. If I visit Hi-Fi dealers I have to travel for hours to get there. All we have locally is Vickers Hi-Fi in York and Sound Organisation also in York and neither of which are of any interest to me. Oh to live in a large city centre...!!!​

Hi there

If you are north, North Yorks, you could try HiFi Sound in Stockton, they are friendly and have a nice new demo facilty / shop on the quayside. I think he does Creek, lots of other phono stuff certainly. Sound Org may also do Creek, they are very friendly too. Bought some Rega Jura's from them as my first 'new' purchase years ago.
