You shouldn't be paying £500 for a 6000KI now - it's long since discontinued and should be changing hands for half that nowadays.

I picked up a brand new Marantz CD6000 OSE LE for £150 (were £330 when they first came out) so I reckon the KI would be £250 max if you can find one.

someone over on the HFC forum picked up a KI from Richers for 150. Sounds like a very good spot.
System wise, I'd say the amp was the weak link. The Dyns like a meaty amp. I'm a fan of meaty amps too. I'd be tempted to look at spending a bit more on the amp and a bit less on the speakers. Not that I don't like the Dyns (I've got some 52s)..... but the trick to a good budget setup is balancing the three components. Some slighty less revealing speakers and a meatier amp might well perform a bit better overall. All IMO of course amir.
