I have a Tag Mclaren PA10 preamp and like it very much.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone here heard any of the Tag Mclaren poweramps? (Like the 100P and 125M)

Last, I know we all have different likings for speakers. But I'm just wondering are there some speakers known to have good synergy with Tag amps?

Kind Regards.

Any speaker not designed to be driven specifically by a valve amp will have synergy.

There is absolutely nothing unusual about the TAGs to make them suit particular speakers.

I have a pair of 125m and run them with a pair of Epos es14's.

The TAG amps are utterly load independent, damping is high enough not to matter unless you want to drive Apogee Scintillas, the FR is ruler flat, they almost double all the way down to 2ohms, they favour no type of music or speaker and are about as neutral as you could hope to find.

They will last forever and should you somehow manage to damage them there are a couple of good service centres going and all the parts are still available including the Sanken output devices.

Really, does the Tag Mclaren 125m have a ruler flat freq response? I didn't know that. I wonder if the PA10 and 100P power amp have a flat response too?

And are the Tag 125M only mono block amps?

it's a power amp, they all have flat responses, almost every amp does these days, unless it's designer chose not to on purpose.

yes they are single channel. monos.
