I am going away to Wales for a week in a carravan in my car with four mates. I have given them strict orders to keep their weight down. I have sent them all on strict diets of cabbage and lettuce and if they weigh more than 9 stone they are not allowed in my car.

However I am thinking about taking my amp and speakers, is this madness? I just find the sound of portables and computer speakers hightly offence.

A colleague of mine once took a Palm PC, a game console and a laptop on holiday. I don't think his wife and kids were amused:D.

...all it takes is one can of lager down a vent.... or a kebabby finger cranking up the volume too much.

    heres a good one...

or in my case, getting home blathered, putting the headphones on but forgetting to plug in the jack, get the hifi to a comfortable "headphone listening level" with my supposedly connected headphones, and get the neighbors banging on the door at 4am for half an hour and not speaking to me for a month.

Taking a laptop too :p I have been given a faulty mini Compaq one with a 700Mhz PIII, after replacing the HD and RAM it now runs like a treat, will take that with an 3g broadband stick.

As for HIFI it is a good point about damage, I might my parents computer speakers, they will sound better than a cheap all in one which they are threatening to take. You know the kind £19.99 Argos special.

    Be fair Garyi,
AT needs semi decent speakers for the amount of time he will spend on the hard shoulder waiting for the AA!

When I were a tadge younger going on holiday least of my concerns was ensuring I had not left home.

I dont envy you your cabbage fueled passangers.

They will make their own sweet trumpet music.

    No thanks!

Sorting new front springs out tomorrow, this is a job I would have left for months and months but I know there is a possibility of these springs snapping as they are already partialy snapped so the job needs doing before I go away.

Need to sort out the RAC trip too. Basicialy getting my car ready to leave Manchester is costing me a fortune, but sorting out break down cover is something I had never considered before because most my journeys are within 5 miles from home anyway.

RAC want £28 a year for my car :).
