Hi everybody,
I'm new to ZeroGain. In fact I'm new to any kind of forum. I'm half-retired thus I have more free time for my hobbies.
Does anybody have an opinion about tweaking a Technics DJTT?

I've been reading about it in UK and American mags for a few years now but, recently many people seem to have caught this fever.

All the mods I've been reading about seem to me a bit excessive (priceways)SMEV; Koetso, outboard PSUs.
 
Arm changes yep. I tried a O.L modded Rega 250 on mine and then a Terminator Air arm / parallel tracker.
Many say the Jelco arms work very well - not tried one myself.

More mods are replacement PSU and off deck transformer. You can spend a fortune on a Timestep or do something yourself. 20V transformer and something like a Velman PSU.

Some have replaced the feet with other sorts / Foculpods being the cheapest.

There are others of course...
 
Tonearm damping

Yesterday I added the KAB USA tonearm damping kit to my otherwise stock SL1200 MkII. It was VERY easy to fit, with excellent quality pieces. I had purchased the kit because many Forums seem to feel that this is the first tweak that should be done followed by re-wiring the arm. While you can purchase, from KAB USA, an already re-wired replacement arm the solder connections within the table are beyond me at this point.
