We've had discussions recently about different ways to audition and buy audio systems and equipment.

So lets hear about examples of truly outstanding service from a manufacturer, direct seller or dealer.

Who's given you excellent service and value for money?

    I'll nominate Richer Sounds.
No frills and absolutely no hard sell when shopping there.
Good friendly service and keen prices.
To borrow a term used here recently, very low 'slurp' :)

I'll go with Richers, Rob - no problems there.
    Also:
Manufacturer - Quad, still servicing - at reasonable cost - almost all products.
Direct seller - Tom at dpa, Richard at NVA
Dealer - sadly none come to mind at present (the now defunct "Music Mill" in Edinburgh was pretty good.

Oh, and Russ Andrews - fine chap, very knowledgeable and free with advice. His products and pricing can attract some derision ...but ... don't like it after 59 days, send back and get your money returned. Pretty fair imo.

    Graham at GT Audio/TRON

My best service award goes to Graham Tricker at GT Audio (01895 833099). I've been a customer for 20 years now and spent a lot of money. He is available on the phone well into the evening (as he needs to be available for his US distributor Jeff @ Highwater Sound, NYC) and at the weekends. His mobile number is on his answer phone message if he doesn't answer his normal number. Oh and when you do go to visit him, you get a friendly cup of coffee or two and NO sales pressure. Quick repairs are done while you wait.

    Best wishes,

    Charlie

Music Matters. I auditioned a couple of pairs of Dynaudios. Very helpful, no pressure.

Another vote for Richer Sounds. Cheap, cheerful, and a totally quibble-free returns policy. :)
