    I tend to prefer John Cage's: 4'33" ,
    which says the same in far shorter time.

    Well Mozart said “the most beautiful thing in music is silence”. As an alternative try musical homoeopathy. Take a CD-RW, record something that tickles your fancy – actually the Mozart piano concertos are jolly nice. When the recording is done, erase the disk completely. When you play the disk, of course you don’t actually hear anything – that would be banal, but you know that the air around you retains the ‘memory’ of the sound. Very therapeutic… :MILD:

    As to the Cage - I just love that gorgeous, poignant bit about about two-thirds the way through. Just gets me every time!

    Yes, and the silent climax slowly leading to the the great pause just before the end. Quite un-heard (of).
