The new look hifi+

Out of consideration for your loss and struggle against facism I have altered the prose of the comparison to give it a more communist flavour.

Replacing a person who put a positive spin on the death of millions with a newspaper that put a positive spin on the death of tens of millions. Yes, that's much better.

Alan

Here's another idea:

I think the room treatment / equalisation subject is woefully under-represented in most magazines. Why not do a 'room doctor' feature?

Some measuring software, a selection of room treatments, a couple of equalisers (or some dealers wishing to lend you the kit) and away you go.

A different victim, er I mean reader every issue. They don't all have to be complete loons (although they to read HiFi+), some people may even resent the idea of huge bass traps. The wider the cross section, the better. I think this would be of genuine interest to most people I'd have thought. I'd pay to read it anyway.

And if it makes it any easier; some of those equalisers are really really expensive too, take the Accuphase DG38 for example, blingtastic.

Scott, you are on to something there, how about a heads up between foo mains cables and interconnects vs none foo room treatments...

I dont think HIFI plus could really dismiss Nodust as a paying
customer. IF anyone could afford their cables and you would have to say that a lot of people at their high cost are willing to
purchace them then that is the answer. Can not wait for the
next issue hope ROY is a Starter makes it all worth while.
Noel W,

Definitely

It may take some setting up and I think the best way of doing it would obviously be recording the speaker output at the listening position. Could make simultaneous measurements to provide evidence.

Simon / Rob, how do we do this in the best way?

I'd be up for it.

lol ! what a brilliant article that would be. I'd buy two copies !!

A bit of a foregone conclusion though....

I also feel though, if someone with loads of cash wants to spend £3k on cables, let them it's a free world.

The mother of all cable comparisons is coming to a forum near you soon. Tomorrow night in fact so watch this space :)

I've kindly been loaned the latest copy, but I can hardly be arsed to read it any more. How are those Waterfall speakers (or whatever they are called) anything more than a marketing exercise?

Did you get a chance to hear them in Munich, they use those new Scanspeak drivers that cover the entire frequency range, more or less!
Keith.

What you mean to say you doubt that it takes a full 30 days to cut 8 bits of 20mm glass and glue them together. How very dare you......

Don't be too hard on Alan and Plus.
Seems a very nice guy, comes and takes flak on every forum in the land and actually listens to constructive criticism.
The current issue is a good read IMO.
