Could have pointed out that a 2nd hand system from ebay for £50 DOES sound better than a docking system for several hundred.

Pity about some of the comments though...

Only if you have a stratospherically expensive player. The DACs on most players in the £100-400 range will not come close to the dynamic range of an equivalent turntable and cartridge combination, all other factors being equal.
