Thea Gilmore's latest album is rather good in my opinion...

It is more of the usual from her really. I can see people saying that she's not moved the game on really in that the style isn't different to Avalanche or Harpo's Ghost. And yet, despite this, I'm not getting bored.

The stand out for me is the first track, Old Soul, which is a duet with Dave McCabe (of the Zutons), but there's many good songs on there, particularly Roll On, Dance in New York and When I Get Back to Shore.

I agree - really great album. I got my copy at one of her gigs so got it signed while there, it stayed in the car for 1st couple of weeks but has now made it's way indoors and sounds lovely on the proper stereo. ;)

Thankyou for this posting, I have listened to and purchased several of Theo's CD's but none could prepare me for this one - It is outstanding. It has got to be the best CD I have listened to in some time. Unfortunately the very good tracks and there are one or two are totally eclipsed by the brilliance of the very best. I cannot recommend this CD to highly - Go on get out there and grab a copy!!!!:):):):)

Her best effort so far, consistently good from start to finish. Had the pleasure of seeing her live a couple of months back and would recommend anyone go if they get a chance. Great stuff.
