I thought rugby started when some bloke picked up the football and ran with it (obviously before the 'handball' rule was formed). So football has to predate rugby.

Kicking balls about dates back thousands of years. Its quite suprising to think it took someone so long to realise its easier if you use your hands....

I'm a Saints rugby fan, but the proper version with scrums and lineouts. After the year Northampton have had, all our remaining fans must have a sense of humour!
