this is just sad sad sad

LOL!

I wonder what his returns, refunds, p+p policies are.

For goodness sake shut up. No one cares what car you drive and whether or not it has badges placed wherever.

Just let it drop.

There are times when I despair for this country.

I hope that your beemer doesn't have any extraneous M badges. The badge police are watching you.

No extraneous badges here,

Why, are you the proud owner of a 316i coupe with fake M3 wheels and a fake M bodkit and badges then?

For a start it is NOT MY car, i was seaching through my pictures for a file that was small enough, and that happened to fit the bill.

For a start it is too old to have a M badge on it! Its a early 70's 2800CS, a classic, which is related to the CSL which is the car that launched BMW motorsports famous blue, purple and red stripes. Would love a "batmobile"

Putting M badges on this would merely be bad taste!

So you can shove your suggested fake M badges where the sun don't shine for this one thanks

:D:)

You are close! Nice car, I knew someone with a batmobile 6-series coupe years ago, it was rather fun.

James, some corrections in order I feel :D The moniker "batmobile" only ever applied to the 3.0CSL racers (and the few roadgoing versions thereof). The 6 series was the successor to the 3.0CS coupes but there was never a "batmobile" variant. The hottest 6 series was the M635CSi which many people refer to as just the M6 allthough strictly speaking there never was an M6. Unlike the M535i which was just a normal 535i with a tasteless bodykit, the M635CSi was a proper M car with a BMW Motorsport engine (the same engine as in the first M car, the legendary BMW M1 mid engined supercar).

BMW anorak...moi?? :D

Michael.

Thanks for putting me right, I am very far from being a BMW expert.

I'm rolling in this aisle. I honestly never knew that, I thought it was 'souped-up' in some way or another. Very comfy car on motorways.

Hey Nico, tell John that his car is just a normal 535i with a bodykit. The amusing thing about this is that it was he who brought up the 'M' badge nonsense in the first place...at least my 'M' badges mean something... I've driven the standard car, and the 'M' suspension is well worth having.

I always thought that his car was suspiciously comfy. :o

A lovely car, for sure - I always wanted one(it was something to do with Moonlighting) - but what about the B6 Alpina? I don't have my set of Top Trumps Supercars to hand but, from memory, the B6 would certainly give the M635 a run for it's money if they went head to head.

I don't know the specs of the B6 Alpina but I don't count Alpina cars as proper BMW factory products even though they have a long association as aftermarket tuners of BMWs and AFAIK Alpina cars have a BMW warranty and can be serviced by any BMW dealer.

Michael.
