yesterday i was playing vynil trying out the primo, obviously my friend came round with his 9 year old son, after 5 minutes of him not saying a word but just staring at this thing spinning round, when he said, "where is the music coming from?" i said from this record via this t/t/ his reply was is that a new format, gulp there goes my beer on the floor,
 
To be fair a 9 year old was born when the MP3 format was just gaining widespread use. It is hardlty surpring really him having no idea what it was.

yes, but id did make me laugh and cry as to why he had no idea how music was as we grue up with various tape g/reel / vinyl/ sources we used, in the end i think he left Rather confused.
 
nando, if your spoken English is as confusing as your written English I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised that he left confused ;-)

Nando, please calm down. No, I don't speak Spanish and I gather by that that English is probably not your first language. Please try not to take offence when people have trouble understanding you. No offence is meant.

To a native English speaker, your sentence above makes no sense.
 
oh i have calmed down a lot, believe me, i had to since i had to put up with a lot of total ignorance for46 years, but trust me i can glide my way with the English language, if you can not understend my way of putting views across then that is not my problem, neither is it an issue here in this forum, p.s. don't try speaking spanish, it could be very embarrassing, i am how ever very cool, thanks, enjoy.
 
My friend is a DJ, he first heard his eldest son swear when he saw a record I quote "what the F#$k is that" he was 7. Big problem is it was at a birthday party and a lot of friends and family were present. We laughed.

You have to admit, it does seem very wierd trying to explain how you can produce a sound by scraping a bit of diamond in a plastic groove.

Let's face it, it's amazing that it works at all, let alone works so well.
 
Come on Nando, I was only joking, I love your Spanglish, it reminds me how English could be spoken.

hi, hi is a bit wiser now, and loves vynil, but i will only let him look at the covers but not allowed to touch them yet, must buy him a t/t.
 
Oh c'mon , daughter#1 knows exactly what vinyl is, hppily playing from the age of 6 with her mum's student-days setup (Dual505s/Rotel840BX/Kefs :D ). I-pod generation of course, but J just loves music whatever the medium. Which is the right answer :)
