I find the best policy is just to go off the speedo, if my speedo days 30mph I know I am not speeding, if I accidently drift to 32-33 which does occassionaly happen I know I am only 30 but slow down anyway.
I remember learning a very harsh lesson when I first started driving solo, I was going down a stretch of the A56 at 35mph thinking it was a 40 limit but because I knew the road I didn't check the signs
I was driving at an indicated 35 in the '40' then just after noticed the 30 sign. If my speedo was 100% accurate I would have probably got a ticket, but I was probably actually doing 31/32 in a 30.
I learnt a big big lesson from this no matter how well you think you know the road always check the signs and speed limits and things always change.
I would like to also see invisible speed cameras just after the main one, as people always seem to speed up as soon as they pass one.
