I quite like the Canare LV61S with Canare plugs at the moment.
+1

don't be like that - there is at least another person on here who is far, far worse.... especially when someone asks about dacs, accoustics etc...![]()
If your referring to yours truely, then just say the word and I won't post another message about acoustics or DACs here again.
I try only to post suggestions of my own product when it is a genuine option and good advice since I want people to get the best they can. I also suggest alternatives most of the time.
Hooray - another round of 'bash the people who manufacture and sell stuff'. I was beginning to get withdrawal symptoms![]()
I was just making a point that why should one person be slated (for endorsing their own wares) and not the next person?
Good advice. Be careful of those seemingly bearing gifts.
On the other hand you could go to Maplins rather than buying of an internet salesman plying his trade through forums. Chord interconnects have a resale value.
Anyone want to buy 2 hardly used Maplins 3m XLR to XLR cables? They come highly recommended.......![]()
There is a strong 'go buy a cheap cable as it is as good or better' view here. So strong I went and did it...
To make life easier I put in a 2nd hand Transparent Audio Music XLR cable and listened to it properly (£110). Then I replaced it with a Maplins special. Ugh.... I really wanted the Maplins to work as I could then flog the Transparent and make some money.
The Maplins was dynamically flat, it had a weak unfocused bass that did not drive the music and a top end that was rolled off. However, as I am not a believer in ABX testing I played the Maplins for a good few tracks. On the plus side it is very even and does not favour any one part of the spectrum over another. But where is the life, impact, drama ? Music is supposed to give an emotional response...yawn.... I put the Transparent cable back in and everything snapped back to life. The Transparent cable has problems (and certainly is not as even as the Maplins) but who cares when you get a sound so laid back short of Johny Mathis farting..
So be careful about the cheap as chips is good brigade.

I've been pissing in the wind,
I chanced a foolish grin,
And dribbled on my chin.....
Sing along if you know the words....![]()
"Frogs in space, or beneath the sea,
That's where frogs really like to be.
A frog for you , a frog for me, and ferrets sing softly in the morning dew."
Chorus
"Oh the sea maidens sing where the wrecks turn to . . . . etc "
I'd like to think I have been consistent in my scathing attacks on those using forums for monetary gain for the past decade - starting with Uncle "Knobby" Eric and AV Forums.![]()
Now that guy is a w****r. Pete and Simon are definitely very, very different to him. For a start they don't use underhand tactics such as making lies up about another companies(whom he doesn't stock or sell) product reliability.
