    Hi

I've been offered a Wadia 860 CDP through a friend (unmodded as far as I am aware). It is in very good condition but the remote is missing and there is no original packaging available. This is not a stolen set as both individuals are old friends who work in the finance industry in the City of London at investment banks (not true-blood audiophiles) but the seller did not think it was necessary to keep packaging so threw it out when he moved flats.

I was just wondering what would be a fair price to pay for the player and whether the new Wadia remote currently offered would work with the 860 CDP.

    Thanks in advance.

I'd estimate an ebay auction / private sale figure would be about £1500-1750 without remote and packaging. A mint unit complete with remote and packaging would be nearer £2250-2500.

    Hi Rakis

Just a thought - you may be able to get the 'remote details' from Wadia, and then program-up a universal remote to work in it's place.

It turns out that the cdp is actually a Wadia 850 (not 860).

Took the plunge as I wanted to get the 850 anyway..after some negotiation, settled for £900 (no original packaging and i need to get a remote).

However, the set is in immaculate condition with only very slight colouration (a small spot on the faceplate).

I guess this is ok for a deal?

Yep - sounds like a decent deal well done.
I sold a mint 850 with packaging and metal remote for £1375ish on ebay about 5 months ago.

Thanks for the advice guys. I am new to the forum andam very grateful for the input. I still have to get a remote though so there is some additional cost to factor in.
