Just borrowed a friends Rega 3 turntable and it appears while I was out some other family member has broken the needle! ( ).

Cartridge fitted is a Rega Super Bias so if anyone has a suitable replacement for cheap I would greatly appreciate it, would also consider upgrading the cartridge for the right money.

Thanks.

Sorry I can't help out with a new cart but i feel your pain and anger.
My record player is the only possesion that i have that is a no go area to the wife, kids and pets, although my giant puppy golden retiever has tried to play his knotted rope on it a couple of times- i never leave the lid up , or take it off now !

Claim the insurance ?

There's usually a clause that you meet the first £50 of any claim yourself, plus some policies specifically exclude stylii.

How much is a rega super bias. if theri is a stylus clause, then accidentally drop the whole TT?, well I know some people who would ;)

£69, don't know if the stylus is replaceable.

As for dropping the whole TT,you might as well go the whole hog and burn the house down.

Exchange Scheme.

The Super-Bias stylus isn't replaceable, but Rega do offer an exchange scheme.

Coincidentally, I have just been to my local 'Audio-T' for a friend of mine to exchange his dead Super-Bias for a new one.

The price? £53.50

I suggest you find your local Rega dealer and enquire. The next cartridge on the Rega upgrade ladder is the Elys and you might be able to get a discount on that.

The other alternative is to approach one of the companies that offer a discount on their cartridge against a trade in on any old cartridge.
