    Thanks for the links, be interesting to see where you get to.

    Yes there are v. cheap ones, also the likes of M-Audio do a bit more fancy (2in 2 out, converts both ways) for around £40, whether the actual conversion is any different I don't know.

    Just posted a want as if you've got one doing nothing re-cycle it rather than bin it.

    Now knowing how they work, I seriously doubt the M-Audio is a better converter, just more flexible.

    Jaycar does a very nice easy build kit. I know its easy cause I built it and (surprise surprise) it works. Very Cheap too!

    have ordered one of the £10 silver boxes, not from Maplin as they were out of stock but same sort of thing
