I have tried taking pictures of the moon before but it never worked out, tonight was a very clear night with half moon, I had the idea of opening my window fully and using the top part as a ledge to keep the camera still.

Another picture with a slower shutter speed

Not bad shots, considering - what camera/lens are you using?

If memory serves Isaac had some good shots of the moon about 5 years ago that he posted - doubt I could find them anymore!

That is why I am pleased with them as its a fairly cheap camera cost me £230 nearly two years ago. So by modern standards its a cheap camera.

It is a 6 megapixel Panasonic FZ7. Two things helped this shot I think, the 12x zoon lens and the fact it has some mechanical anti shake system which does actually work a little bit.

The lens are just built in Lieca ones.

I have got the bug again now, I did a lot of photgraphy last year but been too busy to bother this year, I will start taking a lot more pictures again now though.

I know the moon pics are not perfect, but considering I didn't even use a tripod and they were taken in the middle of a city they are not bad.

Damn it I can't blame my tools now :(:(:(:(:(:(

I don't suppose you have the settings for that pic? E.g shutter speed, apperture etc.

It is quite impressive what you can do with an FZ7 considering its not even an SLR.

I can't remember off the top of my head - but had the metering(?) at it's at -x, x being the lowest value...

I recall seeing a thread on avforums about photographing the moon... the tripod helped too! :)
I stood outside my front door to take it...
