We all hang on a tiny thread...

Hey Michael,
First of all,
A scary story indeed, I hope everything works out and your wife makes a full recovery, it sounds very promising though at this early stage.
As for the what if's... I can really sympathise having had a few family disasters and 'nearly's myself, but the good thing is your wifes condition was discovered at the ( possibly wrong ) time but in the right place, onwards and upwards from here mucka..

All the best S&C

Hi Michael,

Sorry to hear awful the news. Here's wishing your wife a speedy and permanent recovery.

As others have already said, it can be sometimes easy to forget that those whom we value and share our lives with are worth more than any short term euphoria that material possessions can bring.

Thanks for all the kind comments and PMs everyone, it's really appreciated. Visited again this evening and she was already able to enjoy a "proper" meal (soup, a juice and some water) so things are getting better all the time. Should be out of ICU sometime tomorrow.

Michael.

Glad to hear she's on the mend, Michael. That sounded really scary. Life does seem to throw us the odd curve-ball when we least expect it.

You also realise what's important in life and what isn't. HiFi isn't, neither are flash cars, neither is footbal.
Well, football, no.

Hi-fi & flash cars, however, ARE where it's at, I think you'll find.

She had the good taste to choose my speciality. Best wishes for a complete recovery.

James

There's very little I can add to the sentiments that others have expressed to eloquently. We do get so wrapped up in our little lives until a wake-up call jolts us back to reality and what's really important; family and friends.

My best wishes for your wifes speedy recovery and good health to the both of you long in to the future. And lets not forget the friend whose timely intervention persuaded your wife to choose the right path.

Best wishes to all.

Michael,

It's sad to read this and I hope your wife makes a speedy recovery. Yes, life is all too fragile and it is an incident like this that puts it all into perspective.

I do not wish to detract from your current situation, but last Saturday morning whilst on my way to play tennis, my wife phoned me up on the mobile phone to say that her older brother (who recently became 33 years old) had been rushed into hospital that morning suffering from heart problems. No doubt I cancelled the tennis to go with her to the hospital but I found it hard to believe as I'd only spoken to him the night before and he was in great spirits. He comes out of hospital today as he is now stable so I think I can understand what you must be going through. Therefore, I offer you and your wife my best wishes at this time.

Lawrie.

Sorry, Michael - I've just seen this thread and wanted to pass on my best wishes for you and yours. I hope your wife makes a very swift recovery, and that normal hifi nerdiness can be resumed as soon as possible.

All the best,

Chris.

Michael,

Only read this thread now. As many before me have done, let me too send my best wishes of a steady recovery to your wife.

Life is full of unexpected moments; it's important is to understand what each of them means.

I am glad all is getting well.

Jack

Just to let you know that my wife came out of hospital on Friday afternoon and is now almost back to her normal (SWMBO :D ) self again. Thanks for all your kind words.

Michael.
