    Cheers.

My mental, financial and physical recovery is in earnest progress. Excellent day and good time had by all. :MILD:

Lord - I now have three permanent contented residents - one for every 10 pairs of shoes belonging to the wife. . So no space for the Yammy unfortunately. (Cassette kept me in music for three weeks superbly on a portable. :MILD: ). You're not leaving the vanguard of the enlightened purists Lord?:D

    Thanks

    dev,
didn't you hear? dino's no longer the thrusting young man about town, permanently on the pull, with something to prove and hoping to be let out of side junctions. he's a family man so a volvo estate it is then.
    cheers

That's why I was congratulating him.:p Who says a BMW is only for "the thrusting young man...". It's good for a family man as well:D

    dev,
by now you must surely realise that any comments i make about or with regards to bmw's will:

    1) pander to the basest of preconceptions about the car
    2) pander to the basest of preconceptions about the driver.
    3) take all hearsay and gossip about the car as the gospel truth.

therefore bmw's are for thrusting middle management types who get up their colleagues noses but are brown nosed to because they control the yearly pay rise.

    using the same logic...

volvos are for monogamous but sexually overactive men, possibly catholics who owned bmw's previously but have mellowed enough to not abuse their position.

by the same logic i'm a dope dealing gang banger who looks like alan partridge...

as with most things on ZG at present this is of course all bollocks and a plot by russ andrews to make us buy his special petrol.
    cheers

I was cruising in the outside lane of the M4 last night - came up behind this Merc SL500 which was plodding and posing at about 70mph. He had furlongs of space to pull over - but thinks better of it - instead keeps me behing him exasperated for 5 mins - then floors it to dissapear into thin air at warp speed. Meanwhile i get back up to my preferred speed only to find myself behind him again. And the process repeats itself. Same thing a few days back with a Porsche 911. And extrapolating back throuigh history i have encountered the same thing regularly. It is for this sole reason that i would welcome the wheel of a powerful car, possibly an M3/5 or other variant of BMW perhaps in order to screw the bastards up the middle lane. Otherwise, i am compelled to continue my ordinate existence as a family man behind the wheel of a crumbling but reliable Pug.

    :)
