If we're talking about new products heard in the past few years...a toss up between Beauhorn B2 and Zu Druid's.

...oh no.....also that giant slab of copper that sounded dreadful at a show.. oh what was it called...anyone? - it looked like an electrostatic, but it wasn't. Massive rectangular panel that sounded harsh and tinny..

**edit*** coops - 'podium' - that's the one hahaha. great minds.,,

hype only listen for yourself. i do not agree on you slating podiums if you have never heard them in your home. Do not be influenced by what you hear at shows .Have you guys a vendetta against podiums. You are p ing me off.

I live near beahorn and i went over to have a listen, I must say that I liked them perhaps the addition of a sub mught do it justice. I never had a chance to listen at the shows.

With the podiums I have heard them sounding awful and i have also heard them sounding very good. I'm not really into pannel speakers but I like 57's.

I think the worst speaker I hae heard is the 63. I don't now why but they have always sounded lifeless and un dynamic.

Monitor Audio GS20's, massive let down. Im not a huge MA fan, but found the GR20's reasonably enjoyable. The GS's were just appauling.

I'm not sure if I can honestly answer this question. I mean if I hate a speaker that much I'd just not listen and forget about it.

A part from the fact that if I get an awful sound from a speaker, I'm not sure that it is the fault of the speakers, I prefer giving any component a chance to do better performance in the future.

I remember hearing some huge flabby boom tizz Realistic speakers with 15"bass and a plastic horn in a Tandy store a long time back-the experience has stayed with me so they must've made an impression on me;-)

    Naim

LS3/5 - sorry, but these are just wrong.
Ah, shit, the list is long, but the worst I've experienced are probably the Anat Acoustics "YG reference" which are truly appalling.

Wilson are a triumph of marketing over actual sound quality, they use 'special ' mdf you know.

Hi Zanash, yes 'those best speakers' ..!! I know the one's!.

They weren't (IMHO of course) ghastly-bad, it was simply the completely OTT marketing claims that pointed out their real abilities were..less..so!

yup, it's a whacky and wonderful place speaker-land.

It's always interesting hearing people's after show thoughts at the trade shows. Someones favourite room is always someone else's dire-ness.

I visited Erics house [not far from Rye] and heard his Beauhorns. For classical and string music they were unbelievable. But rock, even The Eagles, they were if not up to that task.
