Hi, just after something to replace my Project Phonobox, which was a temporary budget stop-gap. Not looking to spend more than £150 ideally. Not after the last word, just something listenable - no transistor nasties in the treble & all that.

Cart output is .35mV, so needs plenty of gain.

Quite happy buying something from yesteryear (though nothing from the seventies or eighties please - I don't want an antique!), or something esoteric/DIY/Chinese.

Seller must be willing to accept Paypal or offer collection from Central London.

    Rgds,

OK, thanks for the great response guys!

Nick from home cinema centre in Edinburgh has made me a decent offer on a Project Tubebox 2, so I've accepted it. Got the three things I'm looking for - decent MC gain, triode amplification and a warp filter.

I owned a Tubebox MkI for about a year and it sounded great, so hopefully this will have most of its forebear's sonic DNA.

Look forward to receiving it next week.
