I wonder if anyone could please shed some light on why a Yamaha CDX-810/U CD deck might be skipping? Sometimes, it plays the same phrase twice over, at other times it bolts through a track at about twice normal speed. Apart from the optics needing cleaning, or the reading head track needing lubricating, is there any other strong possibility? It's just that the jobs already mentioned call for a bit of dismantling of the drawer mechanism to get at them, so I'd like to eliminate other causes. Thanks for any suggestions.
