I used to know my stuff but I've sorta lost the last decade or so. I currently have a Pioneer VSX-920 that's about to die and I need a new mid-range receiver. I've always liked and had good luck with Yamaha and would like to know which ones are recommended. Obviously it depends on many factors but the basics are: 7.2, at least 4 HDMI, Bluetooth and WiFi. I certainly want to get a piece that can get me through 4k UHD and a 4k Bluray player but from what I'm seeing all the 7.2 units can handle this. I've looked at the RX-V583, 683, 585, and 685. I swear they all seem basically the same but I'm sure I must be missing something. I do understand that the 85's are newer units and that newer is generally better but any advice would be appreciated.
