So he speaks the truth and he gets a load of media attention. "Brown is a one eyed British idiot" there. I am just sick of it, he opens mouth, he gets news. It is not news, and what he said is offensive to who exactly?
He should be Prime Minister. And I say this as a non-motorist. Employ James May as Science and fashion Minister, and Richard Hammond as health and safety / verminator
Absolutely the point (which I thought was rather obvious AT) I was trying to make. Whatever you think of GB, mocking his disability shows very poor form IMO.
...he's said worse, the lorry driver and prostitute thing would have got anyone sacked if they worked for a council.
Agreed Chris, but at least that comment wasn't aimed at any specific individual (as far as I know). Apparently he's apologised and the BBC say they will not take any further action.
Just want to make it clear that I wasn't condoning his comments re: disabilities in my post above <ducks below cover>. The rest of his sentiment is spot on though....
Maybe I'm going Off Topic .. but we Italians loved alot your Tony Blair while we are still peering this Gordon Brown
True... although this looks pretty bad... His comments were an apparent reference to the Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe, who was a lorry driver, and Suffolk Strangler Steve Wright, who used to drive forklift trucks. although the beeb said... "This particular reference was used to comically exaggerate an unfair urban myth, and was not intended to cause offence." erm... okay.
As any fule kno, although the urban myth of the murderous truck driver is long standing; the place you would have been most likely to come across it prior to Clarkson's comments is in 'Viz'. 'Viz Top Tips: Top Gear presenters; why not spend the whole program sucking Jeremy Clarkson's cock and licking his arse? It wouldn't change the basic premise of the show but would save you learning your lines'
I am not sure he was mocking his disability as such as rather describing it. It would have been worse if he called him blind. JC always uses power phrases to get attention and sometimes the media take things too far.
At You are not the person who decides if sometimes the media take things too far.. Listen to the RNIB spokesperson. http://latestnews.virginmedia.com/news/uk/2009/02/06/clarkson_labels_pm_one_eyed_idiot
AT How's your car going? Are you driving around covered in marshmallows, with cushions taped to your head and a mattress tied to the front bumper to improve crash-safety?
I once organised a brain storming session to see if being word death was offensive, I got into trouble because brain storming offended people with eplespy. I am sick of thsi PC stuff, people get offended if we all made sure we did not offend people the world would be very boring! Yes I know some things go too far, but JCs comment is a lot of fuss over nothing, that is just my opinion of course.
Are you pissed? Because half that post is unintelligible drivel. WTF does to see if being word death was offensive mean? You said I am sick of thsi PC stuff, people get offended if we all made sure we did not offend people the world would be very boring! OK. You once claimed on here that you had dyspraxia. Well as Graham Stringer has shown, it doesn't exist. You're just a semi literate thicko who can't spell to save his life. Not nice is it?
