In general small speakers are less expensive than floorstaninding ones. That's because they aren't as good quality in most cases. I made the Kensai because I saw a gap in the market for a really small speaker that uses the very best in all areas of its design. There are some standmount speakers that do this, but few as small as the Kensai. That is it's selling point, not a weakness.
Actually it costs about the same to make a top quality small speaker as a larger one. Everything is much the same except the cabinet, and that has a little less material but tighter tolerance needed, and the labour is similar.
To many keen enthusiasts on forums like this, small is not an advantage since you don't mind having big speakers. To others who are not hi-fi enthusiasts and don't want to see big speakers in their front room, then small is a big bonus, especially when it doesn't sacrifice sound quality. In fact the Kensai beats most floorstading £2k speakers for everything except bass power.
