...even to all youse who aren't Irish.

(Never liked Patrick - when he got rid of the snakes, he left the two-legged ones).

And St. Andrew was a good Jewish boy! Hoots, mon! As was St. David. Yaccyda, or however it's spelt.

Ill be having a Guiness with dad tonight (a Belfast lad).

As a teetotaler, I can't do that. So far, I've managed to conceal the fact from the Irish Embassy, so that they don't revoke my passport.

I'll be having a few :guiness: and watching the Chris Stuckey band tonight - should be a good crack!

Happy St Patricks, everyone :)

I just had to use this one
:saw:
as I've only just seen it and it's cool!!!

Might pop down to the Irish Bar by the river front in Lisbon tonight and have a Guiness :)

In contrast to the slightly tacky "Irish Pub" places that are in every English town which are no more than JD Weatherspoon marketing gimmicks, this Irish place in Lisbon really is Irish, and run by an Irishman who moved to Lisbon over 20 years ago.

:guiness:

Michael.

Hmm... I wonder if SLF are doing their annual St Pats tour.
I went to see them at Glasgow Barrowlands a few years ago it was monster, with all the right ingredients; March 17th St Pats night, Rangers v Celtic old firm derby in the afternoon, The pubs and clubs around about the Barra's where heaving , Green , white and Orange bunting in the streets and loads of very pissed up Jocks wobbling around the streets wearing little green plastic Leprechaun hats, singing IRA songs, and stating how much they hated the auld enemy, I had a great time but didn't speak too much :D

Aha! A fellow Sassenach abroad?

I don't speak at all, ever. My surname is Irish, however, which offers a degree of immunity from any unpleasantness in these parts.

We went to Dublin last year. Watched the parade, drank some, then went to a bar, and as the night went on we noticed the tv in the corner showing *highlights* of the massive fireworks display. Biggest Ireland had ever had apparantly! Looked really good! Shame we missed it....... IT WAS LIVE!!!!!!!!!! Only noticed as it was ending! So while we watched them on tv, they were going off outside the pub!

My surname is Irish too.

The old firm (cup) game around this time last year was a farce! Hartson had a goal ruled offside which was a good few meters on! MASONS!!!!!!!! :p

I take it you're a regular reader of The Portadown News then? :)

Ach, 'clare de ma gudness, never heard of it. Thon's a right wee paper (in all senses, one suspects), right enough, but nothin' a'd get up at the scraigh o' dawn t'read. Ah read the Telly (Belfast telegraph) masel', 'specially the on-lines letters. They were a quare geg before they fell in a hole.

Nice to see dear Mr. Adams basquing in the limelight, as always.
