Has Any One Heard The Northstar 32 Bit' Dac's

No idea. I got bored reading it so I cut and pasted off the website. I knew it had something to do with 32bit.

Good question though worth an email to them.
 
To put all such nonsense in contect - to achieve '24bit' resolution in the audioband (taken as 20Hz-20Khz) with full output at 'line level' (2vrms) basically requires the noise performance equivalent to the thermal (Johnson) noise of an unmolested 50ohm resistor at room temprerature.

IOW nothing in the real world, esp. of commercial audio gear, comes anywhere near. Forget it.
 
I'm genuinely interested to hear the answer as I'm sure can't be done with discretes, so calling them 'resistor ladders' is about as accurate as calling the ESS chip 32 bit just because it uses a 32 bit internal value description.
 
The MSB pamphlet is very disingenuous, juggling half-truths around to their own benefit and ESS's detrimental.
 
Well for a start, ESS quote -110db as THD+n not just THD, which they give as -130db if used as a stereo DAC.

So to claim otherwise is misleading at best, and dishonest at worst.
