We were naive in thinking that reviews were done on merit rather than back handers and bungs. QUOTE]

Wow, It does seem that every part of our lives is being tainted by this pervading corruption that grips the counrty.
Zanash why not name and shame them !

What depresses me is the glowing reviews of obviously sub standard equipment, hardware with flaws in the construction and design. What I can't get my head around is that the reviewer is happy (for some reason) to accept the flaws is certain equipment but not in others. It appears that the cost has a bearing on this, if the amp costs over £30,000 then it must be good. British designed and built equipment gets great reviews even if it looks like it was put together as a school project, and gets the thumbs down under test conditions.

HFN I believe is the worst for this.

from Zanash's post I guess that the obvious answer is the correct one ! Sad or what.

Seems to be the nature of the beast that is "forum" muuhhaahahaaa :JOEL:

If you stand up and say something positive you get some support (hopefully) and you get a whole load of moany ponies and snipey insecure girly men raggin' your ass. It's no big thing really, we're all adults are we? (mostly :) )

You dont feel got at in this thread do you? If not give an example where you feel things have been a bit ott?

fair enough bud, i am big enough and ugly enough for a bit of banter on here! Na dont feel "got at" at all, its interesting to see how people opinions differ mind.:)

I'm pretty sanguine about things twenty years on...the mag went down the pan..and you don't see the particular chaps name about now. I just wanted to show that certainly in the past things were not as straight as one might first think. I have no current experience in the field of hifi journalism, only the odd tale now and then. It may be that they have cleaned themselves up, only people currently involved could possibly comment.

Theres no milage in a name and shame I've moved on !
