It should be a criminal offence....

perhaps they ran off with my coat which went walkies on saturday morning at about 3.30 am.
which rave were you at anex?

Don't think so although I may have been on saturday. It was a 21st party for a club promoter/DJ friend who lives on a farm. A recipe for disaster.

Oasis - their only festival performance in the UK this year apparently, and it was great (especially 10 yards back and centre stage :D)

I caught some of their set by accident on telly on the Friday night - is it just me, or have they lost it? (I bet being that close to the front made up for it though, Will?? ;) - might have seen ya on the box!) They seemed to just be hollow and flat somehow, although the bit where Noel was egging on the drummer and vice versa seemed pretty cool!

Jet - quite awful live I thought, compared to most. Just sounded really sloppy.

That's a pity - I thought their "Get born" album was pretty good in its own way. Hadn't they split up? They were supposed to show at Glasto 04 and didn't?

Presidents Of The United States Of America - absolutely superb

COOOOL!!!! I've got their first two albums (I don't know if they made any more?) and they rock! I bet they were cool as f*** live!?

As for my Sunday, let's not go there. Saturday was spent schlepping around West Bay and Bridport with a blotchy fat walrus in tow. Not entirely bad though, as I managed to get Bob Marley's "Legend" on CD for £3.50! Result!

I thought Oasis were pretty good actually, certainly not flat or hollow sounding - though the stuff they played off the new album didn't go down that well compared with older stuff. They didn't play Supersonic though which was the only real let down for me :(. If you saw them on telly on Friday night it can't have been them playing at V this year though, as they played Chelmsford on the Saturday evenng and Stafford (where I was) on the Sunday evening.

As for Jet, no idea whether they had split up or not...haven't heard anything about a split but then I don't follow them too closely. I too liked 'Get Born', but the live performance was a bit of a let down...the album to me has a sort of live sound to it, so I was expecting them to sound good, but they just sounded sloppy and rough :(

As for PotUSA, yes they were cool as **** live, for me of all the bands I saw these guys put on the best 'show' for the crowd! At one point the lead singer slung his guitar behind his back and was reaching behind him to play it, and it was pretty much seamless in that you couldn't tell he wasn't playing as normal by the sound :D. Then the two guitarists sort of slung their guitars over the others head and were playing each others guitar solos for one song. Then half way through one song they told everybody in the crowd to take one step back and sit down, and everybody just did it .

They really got the crowd going, even more so than The Hives did when I saw them in March, which is really something....everybody singing along to Peaches and doing the 'meow meow, meowmeowmeowmeow' bits of Kitty, absolute class :D. They've done 3 albums I think: 'Of The United States Of America', 'Freaked Out And Small', and 'Presidents of the United States of America 2'. Theres also a Special version of the latter with demos and bonus tracks on it seems...will probably buy the albums at some point.

:)

Are you Jeremy?
Do you fancy my mate?

I've a mate called Jeremy who used to go to many a free party over your way (bristol). He may have fancied your mate.

He's 25, about 5'10, slim. Dark hair (possibly with short dredlocks depending when it was). He's not lived around these parts for a few years, so depends when it was. He used to be involved with setting up parties too. Used to spin/produce dnb and techno.

How long ago was this?

Ah - maybe it was Saturday night then (yeah, it was, as I'd watched Toy Story 2 on my parents' new DVD player (just to check it out - forgot how cracking that film is!) - it WAS the new music they were playing, admittedly. I guess the crowd aren't so "mad for it" for the new stuff, a bit like when we saw REM at Glastonbury in 2003...

Pennance - Eat Static, err, rule!
