jade, you either believe in a god or not. Try reading some Sam Harris (letter to a Christian nation) or the bible:) then make ur mind up. The misuse of religion is another topic altogether but may make ur mind up on why people invented a god in the first place.

    have fun!

    Interesting point.

In my case I DO beleive in the paranormal (plse no flaming or what ever you call it)......there have been just too many reported cases....

When I said this to my Dad, he commented that does that give me an issue with religion? I have to admit that I suppose it does. I haven't followed it up though.

although I do appreciate some of the positives that religion brings on the whole I am not a supporter

    yes....

ppl need gods. They invented them 20k years ago, they modified them through the ages and different settlements/continents/races eventually promoted a favoured supreme being and creator.

All are created by man to deal with the adversities of the world, be they environmental, tribal, social, political, or the unexplained (much of world was unexplained until the last couple of hundred years).

The value of religeon is watered down as the relevance to modern life is twisted and reinvented to make fables fit.

We don't need god. God doesn't exist. When we die, that's the end.

The beauty of nature is not down to one deity.

Nature is neither good or evil.

Diversity creates the best conditions for survival.

Ghosts doent exist, despite a rash of reports. PPl invent these things becasue they belive in them.

One piece of anecdotal evidence is useless.
1 million pieces of anecdotal evidence are useless. DO NOT BE SWAYED BY A TIDE OF BS.

    back to my beer......

I am a very firm believer that one chooses to believe in a God and therefore a religion to cover up a rather extensive guilt complex. I find it rather easy to believe that if you have done nothing wrong then you have no need to look for forgiveness. I don't care about heaven and hell as I don't believe in them in the first place. I shall not be blackmailed into a better place when I die as I simply think it's utter bollocks.

I have no need for a God in my life. I say need as there is only one reason for believing in a God. The reason is that you have a need to believe. You have a complex that makes you require a God for forgiveness. God offers us forgiveness. I don't need his forgiveness, I have done nothing that needs the forgiveness of a figment of my imagination.

So, you have done nothing wrong?

You are an exceedingly lucky man.

    I do things wrong everyday.

Do you not think that mankind might not be just like be Gods train set, he's looking down on us like one of those Greek Gods in the Jason and the Argonauts films. I think as sceptical as I am, I look at nature, how its evolved and how perfect it is, and how flawed we are as a species, we must look like a soap opera to any creator, as we greedily harvest anything that looks like a resource at the cost of our planet, and squabble amongst ourselves.

I'm not ruling anything out. I saw a ghost the other night standing at the side of my bed 3ft away - seriously, large as life (well death), (not one of those crap orbs you get on Most Haunted) and that really got me thinking. (an no its not because I believe in them either) Wish I'd had my camera phone.

Still an Agnostic, seriously not ruling anything out.

I have done plenty of things the majority of folk would consider wrong but I simply don't have a huge guilt complex about it.

I think there is rather more to having a faith than you are giving credit for.

Assuming your post is genuine....and I have no reason to doubt it....have you seen the image before? First time?
