SIOUXSIE: I've always wanted to meet you.

GRUNDY: Did you really?

SIOUXSIE: Yeah.

GRUNDY: We'll meet afterwards, shall we?

STEVE: You dirty sod. You dirty old man.

GRUNDY: Well keep going, chief. Keep going. Go on, you've got another ten seconds. Say something outrageous.

STEVE: You dirty bastard.

GRUNDY: Go on, again.

STEVE: You dirty fucker!

GRUNDY: What a clever boy.

STEVE: You fucking rotter!

Hi,

Quality stuff. That interview was the beginining of the end of Bill Grundy's career. It was a strange interview. It seems that Bill may have had a few drinks. He seemed to want the Sex Pistols to swear. I remember that an outraged viewer kicked his telly in when he heard the swearing.

Here is an interesting view on the event from Glen Matlock.

I saw a documentary about swearing in tv and radio. The first time the F word was uttered the BBC had many of post bags worth of complaints piled up. The offender actually received death threats . In Parliament one Conservative M.P. called for him to be hanged !

How things have changed today. For example, does anyone watch Deadwood ? :D
