rob, I hope it provides a worthwhile improvement for you. How about a mini-report? I'd be interested to read your thoughts on the upgrade.

i will do mr c. ive got an sme arm arriving next week and hopefully i should have everything up and running by next week end.
its going to be hard to know where the improvment is comming from as im changing both arm and board at the same time however both the arm and the armboard should give me a substantial improvment over the original thorens set up providing i get it right and dont make a mess of it.
will defo keep you posted though.

i might be tempted to make a prototype arm board out of wood first though just to make sure ive got everything right , thinking about it i recon this would be the best thing to do , this way i'll know ive got all the measurments right and i'll be able to hear any improvments from the carbon fibre board over the wooden one.

Nice...I've got a 3009 (1970 vintage) sitting around somewhere since I upgraded to the 309. I'm keeping hold of my 3009 in case I ever get a second TT. It's a classy looker and really sounds good. There is an upgrade available in the form of a fluid damper kit, which if you haven't already got I recommend as it seriously improves tracking ability.
