The stand is actually desgined on acoustic principles. The size and mounting height of that board has been the subject of thorough mathematical analysis. And the bass driver is 40 cm, which is almost 16". A really rather good speaker.

It appears they do other stands:

"Various special stands and holding devices can be delivered as accessories".

A dealer friend who sells MEG. He loves and hates selling them, loves because he knows he's selling a good product with good support, hates because its usually the last speaker he'll ever sell to that customer, unless he wants to change size.

Send MEG a mail, they are generally quite happy to explain their products.

I wonder why they have sited the main drive unit equidistantly on 3 sides (apparently a very bad idea for baffle refraction, or so I have read) a ''near cube'' is apparently one of the worst shapes for standing waves too.

I wonder why they have also selected this shape?

I haven't heard the loudspeaker and would love to do so, despite these slight reservations. I like the point source principle they have addressed.

Probably because, for one, its already very big and to change the shape only means making it bigger.

But mainly, there are no standing waves at the frequency the main driver works over for such a small box. The mid driver is outside the box entirely so it won't have any colouration from 'the cube'. Its also not a normal box, its a 'u-frame' design which is open backed.

    Quote Robholt: Flat-earther

Do you guys remember a few thread ago...talking about trying to get new members in and not trying to alienate folks with terminology. I think the term 'flat earth' does exactly that...alienate. I certainly don't understand it and personally think it's non-sense! There must be several words in the English dictionary when put together mean the same thing.

Can we stop using terms like:

    1. flat earth
    2. WAF
    3. follow the tune
    etc etc etc

Aside from that those RL901K loudspeakers look dreadful!

I'd rather have a pair of those RL901Ks than a pair of WAF approved flat earth speakers that have no bass, but can follow the tune!
