I haven't done the test on the site but just looking at the types reported, I recognize this test as the classic Myers Briggs test used a lot in the US. When I worked over there we all had to spend a day doing this stuff and I remember that I was INTP - can't remember what that all meant but basically, 90% of the IT geeks (like me :) ) were INTP...

OK, just found a site that explains what each letter in the type means (in case that emode site doesn't explain it):

EDIT: just checked the site and sure enough, if you take a look at INTP and look for "Most suitable jobs for INTP" you find Computer Programmer / Software Engineer at the top of the list :D

Well, yep, it's a Myers Briggs alright - I got ENTP when I last tested on the paper version (in April for a work course) so ENFP is more preferrable to me as I reckon I'm better at the feelings bit than the intuitive bit... :)

All that crap about "only about 6-7% of the population have the unique characteristics of your type" is such a load of BS! Of course if you have a personality test with 16 distinct types, assuming they are roughly equally distributed among the population then 100 / 16 = 6.5% so that applies to every category.

Trying to make it looks as if you're somehow special is really sad - no doubt some people will fall for it though :rolleyes: It's as bad as those bogus Readers Digest "lotteries" where you start with a scratch card and, surprise, surprise, when you scratch 3 of the 6 circles you find you've WON! Congrats - you're one of the lucky few who can enter your name and address for the big draw.....yes, but just scratch all the circles off and you'll see that every combination of 3 is a winning one. One more address for the spam file :inferno:

Hmmm! The Belbin Test is more useful. I'm a 'Shaper' ;)

The Shaper is highly motivated. They have a high degree of nervous energy and a great need for achievement. The Shaper may lead the team, but their personal characteristics and approach are quite different from a typical Co-ordinator. The Co-ordinator's commitment to team objectives tends to be morally based, whereas as the Shaper endeavours to reach objectives by whatever means are available,, even if these are illegitimate. The Shaper's concern is to win to reach goals by putting every effort into the process. The Shaper tends to be opportunistic and will show a strong emotional response to any form of disappointment or frustration.

The Shaper is suspicious and impatient. Mostly rubbish! On the whole I find people generate the most irritating headaches at work - although Microsoft comes pretty damned close. My answers to several of the questions were quite different to what they would have been after a rather turbulent 3 years on the work front, so they can be forgiven given my priorities could be in rather a state of flux.

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about Chris :) I do exactly the same - I'll never be a manager because I don't much like most of them to be perfectly honest, and in the sort of places I've worked (all government) there's frankly too many of them doing too little work, on stupid (in comparison to the REAL workers) salaries... Plus you can't trust them. Oh, and a LOT of the ones I've worked for make David Brent look like a competent employee....
