I think the logo is really good, the frightening thing is nothing compares to it, I knew as soon as saw it was done in Photoshop. I tried designed my new music site with the Gimp but it just didn't look good so I had to use photoshop in the end.

Thanks AT.

Photoshop AAAHHHH. all the cut down ones claim to be similar, or just as powerfull, crap, nothing compares to it whether its graphics or photos or cartoons (some with help from illustrator), once read somwhere that the glowing lights on the decks of the spaceships in starwars were created by running each frame through photoshop.

Currently using Photoshop CS. excellent.

Personally, I'd like to get rid of the tagline and see a new logo. A logo competition sounds a great idea.

Happy Birthday ZG! Well done to Michael for all his efforts.

Hi

Well done to Zerogain, and thanks to Michael and to Joel for past endeavors.

On the 'high end' thing, its my view that the people who started the migration to zerogain were hifi enthusiasts.. as such their systems were perhaps a step or two up from the basic... people like joel, WM, robbo, julian etc.

It seems to me ZG has been a forum for members to chat in, and if a lot of people have expensive systems, then the focus is surely going to be moved slightly.. I dont think it was a deliberate move..

I do miss the steady influx of new people that HFC had, it brought about some interesting views and individuals.

On that last point I personally believe its up to us to encourage people we meet and know either on the internet or in life who are into hifi or just music to come and post on here.

well anyway, back on topic happy birthday zerogain!

783 members in a year is I think pretty good going.

Maybe its more a case of encouraging new members to post more

Many happy returns Michael. I think you have done a superb job (and I promise not to mention the tagline or logo... much).
I agree with AT's very perceptive comments at the start of this thread. All very true, although I should make it clear that the primary reason for starting another forum was that the forum we were using at the time was "closing" fofr xmas holidays. This was really the last straw.
750 members is pretty much two new members a day for an entire year. That is good, really good for an online-only forum with no ads and no hardcopy affiliation. ZG is also one of the liveliest forums around - just look at the number of threads and posts - really incredible IMHO.
Anyway, enough rambling. Well done Michael (and my best wishes also go to your wife for a speedy recovery and putting up this hifi sillyness) and happy birthday ZG!

Looks like this birthday greeting arrives a day late - that's par for the course.

Ne'less, Well Done Michael, and whoever your helprs may be. An enjoyable Forum.

Hi,

Happy Birthday to Zerogain. A good one year old.

I enjoy the forum, it does have a good mix of members & some interesting stuff. It's good that you can talk about stuff from cheap old equipment to the latest high toys.

Any forum is only as good as the range of people that use it. A wider range of people will add to the fun. This is something we need to go towards.

Well Done Michaelab & everyone, keep up the good work.

SCIDB

Happy Birthday!

Well done and long may the success continue :)

He started off "alright", but he turned into a right wanker and pissed everyone off - he just got abusive if you disagreed in any way TBH...

Michael,

You have shown the patience of a saint and the humility of a monk. Your efforts over the past twelve months in providing a group of bored children with a place to play to their heart's content (without falling foul of teacher and having their wrists slapped) have been mighty.

My business partner would like to thank you for my decreased productivity and my wallet would like to thank you for helping it to lose weight by encoraging rampant willy waving on a daily basis.

May I wish you and Zerogain all success in the future.

His name was Gary wasn't it? Or am I getting mixed up with somebody else?
