Is iTunes any good ?

Me too. EAC is slower too but I've yet to have it fail to do a perfect rip (including copy protected CDs).

Voodoo - I assume you're using a Mac then? Otherwise you could just rip using EAC and then use iTunes to do the transfer to your iPod.

Michael.

Voodo is your picture supposed to be out of focus, or is it my eyes! What is it?

I'll give the ripper in iTunes a go but I doubt it will be a patch on EAC, especially with copy-protected CDs.

Just gave it a go. It doesn't rip properly, so as Ian says EAC and then iTunes. I'm going to try ALBW to see if it can rip a whole album as 1 track and then split it correctly.

I do agree with Gary, it is a nice interface and Windows programmers should take more notice of the look and feel of Mac.

Garyi, I'll leave you to stew over it for a few days ;) :MILD: .

It looks like he's done some kind of "astigmatism" effect on it. It's only in focus in a single plane (roughly the 120 & 360 degree axis).

As it happens that happens to be roughly the plane of my (severe) astigmatism and if I view the picture without my glasses on it's in focus

Michael.

Snigger, I was alking all around the monitor trying to get it in focus!

Its rather good.

'tis mearly a motion blur added to my my business logo.

You have 'Voodoo', 'Voodoo Beats' (for DJ'ing etc.) 'Voodoo Design' (Flyers /Posters etc.) and 'Voodoo Lounge' for my writing.

I'll change it sans blur when I get a chance :D.

To be honest I don't entirely get the point of that.

Microsoft would appear to be jelous?

All I know is, I bought an ipod at the weekend, itunes allows me to do everything I want with the ipod. itunes is free, the ipod obvioulsy is not.

When we are able to access the music store I will have a look at what is on there and choose to download or not.

Otherwise surely I can purchase music from other sites download it and simply import it into itunes.

For MS users they have itunes now or can stick with music match,

Seems everyone is happy, if they want an ipod, or if they want another MP3 device (Why?)

Blimey Gary, you're *so* defensive. The article was all about the irony of one monopoly (MS) attacking a would-be downloadable music monopoly (Apple) on the spurious grounds of "choice". Seemed quite astute to me.

Ian, I thought it was hilarious. Total and blatant hipocrasy :NADowner: .
How can they even consider that as a viable argument/case when they practically wrote the book on it  .

I didn't think I was being defensive, I certainly didn't mean too. I was trying to understand towards the end of the article about horizontal and virtical (I really don't understand this) MS working on choice, I just suggested that everyone had choice so job done.

I got the 40 gig model, the packaging is very smart, reminds me of an aftershave I got last year, can't remember thenameof it though!

barsteward :D !

I was completely blown away by the attention to detail in the packaging  :MILD: . It's a shame that more manufacturers couldn't be that thoughtful. It certainly adds owner value (but i've yet to see one on e_Bay ;) .).

Enjoy !

(But change those headphones  .)

I was prompted to download itunes to hear something yesterday. Not sure what. Looks nice in so much as it's silver, but erm........ pretty much the same as the rest in all honesty. I'll set it as default player and use it for a few MOre days....

I think I'll just continue to use Foobar... Fast, unbloated, and superior sound quality. I dont need crappy features like those to organise my music, but if I had an IPOD I could probably see the point. But I dont, and probably never will (I find the price to prohibitive for a portable device), so with that note, it gets put in the same club as that other bloated POS, Windows Media Player ;)

Paul. if you had an ipod you would definatly see the point!

I'm just about to see the point, 3rd of Nov my 40Gb ipod turns up.

Apple has just worked their magic on me, how many PC owners will do the same :D

Andy, you're going to love it from the moment you open the box (Garyi will know what I'm talking about ;) ) :D .

Just change the headphones .

Enjoy
