Yup! I suppose you are right but I just don't like giving him any credit
But this is Linn music you must see that.
Well I voted for deck 2 - which I'm betting is the Voyd

Anyway I listened to one and that was enough, I chose the current favourite #5
How facile, you only listened to one and then you just chose the most popular! Rather goes against your claim of being an individual 'I chose the current favourite'.
With regard to 'not bothering', please don't - please don't bother yourself at all.

People were free to play whatever records they had brought with them (and they did).
No doubt, had you been there, you would have chosen some Bert Kaempfert (I know you are a fan).
Welcome!i_should_coco has joined the E92 fan club Dev

Over produced, artificial and contrived. Not a Suzanne Vega fan then?
Yes, it's foot tapping stuff; but it's also a good collection of well written, well produced songs.

I am a fan of the recording quality not the music, as I have said over and over and over and over and over and over again on other forums. But as long as you have found an angle to diss from what does that matter.
Nando for once I completely agree with you, all Cat Stevens Island albums are brilliant recordings, maybe just a little tad to much lift in the hf EQ on his voice, but that is all I can criticise.one of the bes recordings we made at island was cat stevens hits, the other still being used to set up stage live sound for biasing and sound checks is " breckfast in america "
nando.
<snip> maybe just a little tad to much lift in the hf EQ on his voice, but that is all I can criticise.
That is the problem with producers and recording engineers, give them a new toy and they want to play with itMany a good recording is ruined by too much HF vocal EQ and reverb.
Lots of hi-fi buffs seem to like it but its horrible IMO - sort of swishy and fizzy artificial grain added to the voice. Gets mistaken for air and detail, which it isn't.
The tendency to do this (and other horrors) seems to get worse with every passing year.
Far too much EQ is used live on the PA as well. EQ is very important on the foldback desk, but the main desk engineer should have as light a hand as possible.I think EQ is fine in the hands of an engineer with good ears, and no bean counter shouting the odds saying 'make it sound OTT impressive'.
If the engineer is comparing the recorded performance to the live sound and using the latter as his reference, you stand a good chance of a great result.
If I can add to Dev's point.
If accusations are to be made accusing any member of deceit or lying, the poster had better have some solid, hard evidence to support the accusations.
Hard evidence means just that, so no opinion, no third party reports and tell-tale stories - facts that can be proven, quickly.
